Yes, Smart prisons.. It could make them a safer place for both inmates and guards, or could turn into a complete disaster.
In some prisons, Artificial Intelligence is added to them for purposes of monitoring inmates. Specifically Hong Kong in China. They are testing fit-bit like devices which constantly monitor the prisoners location, activities, heart rates, etc. Any suspicious behavior is flagged and a human guard can see the video immediately. There are also smart surveillance in this prison, such as facial recognition to open doors. Because of all these new systems and fast AI devices, employees from the surveillance tech company(Tiandy Technologies) are claiming that prison breaks are history. Should the US try to copy the Chinese model of prison surveillance?
